Kehinde Wiley: The Nigerian Painter chosen to paint Barack Obama's Official Portrait

This is Kehinde Wiley.

Kehinde is a New York-based portrait painter who is known for his highly naturalistic paintings of black people in heroic poses.

He was born in Los Angeles to a Nigerian father and an African-American mother and his work has gained acclaim for his brave portraits which address the image and status of young African-American men in contemporary culture.
